Funeral Services for Lucille Wilcher will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. from McClain-Hays Chapel with Bro. Curt Pace and Bro. Dudley Winstead officiating. Interment will follow in the Wilcher Family Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Service.

Lucille S. Wilcher, a beloved resident of Philadelphia, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 8th, 2024, at the age of 98. Born on Friday, October 1st, 1926, in Leake County, Lucille lived a long and full life, touching the hearts of everyone she met.

A dedicated homemaker, Lucille was known for her love of riding tractors, tending to her garden, and her passion for yard work. Her culinary skills were admired by many, and she always had a knack for keeping her grandkids straight. Lucille also had a deep affection for her pets, Delilah and Dixie, and cherished the time spent with her sisters.

Lucille is survived by her loving family, including her granddaughter; Tonya Fortune (Chris) and grandson; Tim Clair, both of Philadelphia. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren; Nicole White (Wayne), Ashley Netterville (Trey), Amanda Fortune Winstead (Tyler), Anna Clair Gentry (Coty), Zachary Fortune, Alexis and Aubree Clair, great-great grandchildren; Gavin, Cutler, and Darby White, Charleigh Clair, Bryar Gentry, JonRoss Winstead, and Lillian Netterville. Lucille also leaves behind cherished memories with her sisters; Joann McDonald and Allie Jenkins, and a host of nieces, nephews, and their families.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Aubrey L. Wilcher; daughter, Sandra Clair; parents, Sam and Clydia Savell; siblings, Bobbie Ellis, Hazel Savell, William Savell, and Aubrey Charles Savell.

Pallbearers honoring Lucille's life include Billy Wilcher, Howard Wilcher, Billy Jenkins, Tyler Winstead, Wayne White, and Zachary Fortune.

Lucille's spirit will be forever remembered for her love of family, her laughter, and her indomitable spirit. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
