Funeral Services for Lovis Inez Dees will be held Thursday, December 28, 2023 at 2 p.m. from McClain-Hays Chapel with Rev. Michael Wells officiating. Burial will follow at Cooks Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, December 28, 2023 from noon until service time at McClain-Hays Funeral Home. Lovis Inez Dees was born July 1,1933 and passed away on December 24, 2023. Mrs. Dees was a member of Cooks Chapel Church. She was the happiest when surrounded by her family and friends. She was known as Memaw by most who loved her. She was an avid gardener who loved any type of flowers and plants. She loved shopping and antiquing. Survivors include daughter, Terry Lee Card of Philadelphia; grandchildren, Jaime Lawrence (Jeremy) of Ashville, NC, Mary Jane Cumberland of Philadelphia, Lee Card (Stacy) of Philadelphia; great-grandson, Landon Lawrence of Ashville, NC; sister, Hazel Merritt of Gholson; niece, Sharon Higginbotham (Raymond) of Elysian Fields, Texas; and a host of several nieces and nephews and their families. Mrs. Dees is preceded in death by husband of 50 years Bobby L. Dees; parents, Mary and Monroe Eaves; daughter, Lynda Faye Chesney.
