Lonnie Carrol Barrier

Funeral services for Lonnie Carrol Barrier will be held Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. from McClain-Hays Chapel with Bro. Arrie Fulton and Bro. Randall Bryant officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 9:30 until time of service. Burial will follow in the North Bend Pentecostal cemetery in Neshoba County. Mr. Barrier, 81, of Ridgeland, died Friday, January 6, 2023. He was a native of Neshoba County and a graduate of Neshoba Central High School and Mississippi State in 1967. He later earned his MBA from Mississippi College. He started his career as a civil engineer with Mississippi Power & Light (Entergy) and worked until he retired after 25 years of service. He returned to the workforce with MDEQ in 2001, currently working as a civil engineering. He enjoyed traveling and music with his guitar. He had his private pilot license and loved flying small aircraft. He loved history, and especially cherished spending time with his family, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Survivors include three daughters, Melanie Beach (Michael) of Bastrop, LA, Ann Summers (Gregg) of Belle Chasse, LA, Sharon Frazier of Clinton, MS; son, Kevin Barrier (Tara) of Bentonia, MS; grandchildren, Brandon Beach, Zach Beach, Joshua Barfield, Bridgett Barfield, Krystal Summers, Eddie Summers, Samantha Summers, Alexandria Summers, Patrick Thomas, and Gunter Baney; great-grandchildren, Noah Barfield, Micah Barfield, and Jasmine Barfield; sister, Francis Bryant (Randall) of Longview, TX; special companion and family friend, Sherry Wilson of Bardstown, KY. Pallbearers are Gregg Summers, Michael Beach, Kevin Barrier, Joshua Barfield, Brian Lowrey, and Patrick Thomas.
