Mary Rushing

Service will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, from High Hill Baptist Church with the interment to follow in the church cemetery. Bro. Don Cook will officiate. Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church.

Mary Rushing passed away peacefully at the age of 89. She was originally from Leake County but lived in Neshoba County for over 70 years. Mary helped many families as a babysitter for more than 30 years, and she made a lasting impact on their lives.

She loved gardening and enjoyed growing flowers. However, the time she spent with her family and friends brought her the most joy. Mary was a dedicated member of High Hill Baptist Church, where she found support and friendship.

Mary is survived by her daughters, Patsy (Lamar) Gorum of Pickensville, AL, and Rose (Donnie) Henson of Columbus, MS, as well as her son, Frank Carroll Rushing of Philadelphia. She had four grandchildren: Michael (Kelli) Gorum, Joseph Henson, Joshua Rushing, and Alicia (Clay) Presley. She was also a great-grandmother to Zack and Carson Gorum, Trinity Rushing, Chelsea, and Willow Crimm.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Lee Rushing; her daughter, Wanda Rushing; her sister, Edna Earl Comans; and her brother, Lamar Comans.

Pallbearers will be Micheal Gorum, Zack Gorum, Carson Gorum, Joseph Henson, Lamar Gorum, and Donnie Henson. Her grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Mary Rushing will be remembered for her love and care for her family and community. She will be missed by all who knew her.
