Linda Hembree Mcneil

Graveside services for Linda Hembree McNeil will be held Monday, November 18, 2024 at 12:30 p.m. from Hembree Cemetery with Bro. Mack Alford officiating. Visitation will be held Monday, November 18, 2024 from 11 a.m. until departure time from McClain-Hays Funeral Home.

Linda Kay Hembree McNeil of Neshoba County, MS, was born on March 5, 1943 and passed away on November 11, 2024 in Orlando, FL after a long battle with Dementia.

Linda McNeil was the 3rd daughter of Florence and Cook Hembree of Philadelphia, MS.

Linda graduated from Philadelphia High School in 1961 and attended East Central Junior College. Linda was a long time resident of Charlotte, NC, where she enjoyed being a loving grandmother to all 6 of her grandchildren. She attended countless soccer games, pee wee football games and swim meets while never complaining that her grandchild was in the 100th group of kids to swim! She waited patiently and cheered like it was the Olympics. Linda loved to go for walks and walked 3 to 4 miles almost every day. She enjoyed NFL football games and watched these games religiously with her husband until the very end.

Linda is survived by her husband of over 63 years, Jerry McNeil, her son Jeff (Bonnie) of Charlotte, her daughter, Lynn of Orlando FL, Grandchildren Hannah, Kelsey (Alex), Jack, Sam, Cole and Sophia, and great granddaughter Olivia, and one sister Betty Hembree Mooney of Philadelphia, MS.

Linda was preceded in death by her infant son, Jason Gregory McNeil and her sister Nancy Hembree Broell

Pallbearers will be Cole McNeil, Jack Hilbish, Jeff McNeil and Alex Vitter.
