Linda Gray Brewer

Funeral services will be held Monday, March 27, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. from McClain-Hays Chapel with Bro. Mark Cloys and Bro. Jeff Brewer officiating. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery in Philadelphia. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 26, 2023, at McClain-Hays Funeral Home. Mrs. Brewer, 73, of Philadelphia, died Friday, March 24, 2023, at Neshoba General Hospital. Born and raised in Neshoba County, MS, she was a graduate of Philadelphia High School Class of 1967, and later attended Mississippi College where she graduated with a degree in guidance counseling. She was employed at Neshoba Central Elementary School, from where she retired. Mrs. Brewer was a member of East Philadelphia Baptist Church and served as church coordinator for East Mississippi Operation Christmas Child. She loved to sew, travel, and spend time with family and friends. She was married to the love of her life, Richard, for 50 years. She will surely be missed by all. Survivors include husband, Richard Brewer, Sr., of Philadelphia, MS; daughters, Janie Brewer Cruce (Scott) of Harrisburg, NC, Ashley Gray Jenkins (Josh) of Philadelphia, MS, sons, Richard Lee Brewer, Jr., of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Paul Robert Brewer (Kristin) of Spanaway, WA, David Keith Walker (Nicole) of Geneva, NY; grandchildren, Jordan and Jensen Cruce, Logan Cruce, Jonathan Beckham (Kayla), Kayden Jenkins, Dylan Jenkins, Ethan Brewer, Kyra Brewer, Erin Brewer, Ryan Brewer, Addison Walker, Madelyn Atkinson, and Daniel Atkinson; brother, James Tony Gray (Stephanie) of Philadelphia, MS; several nieces, nephews and their families. Mrs. Brewer was preceded in death by her parents, James M. and Doris Gray. Pallbearers are Logan Cruce, Ricky Brewer, Paul Brewer, Jonathan Beckham, Kaden Jenkins, Dylan Jenkins, Oliver Gray, and David Walker.
