Services for Lillian Thomas Killen will be held Saturday, April 13, 2019, at 11 a. m. from Grace Baptist Church in Philadelphia with Rev. Dennis Duvall and Rev. Chester Carlisle officiating.  Burial will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery.  Visitation will be held Friday, April 12, 2019, from 5 p. m. until 8 p.m. at Grace Baptist Church and Saturday from 10 a. m. until service time at Grace Baptist Church.  McClain-Hays Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Killen, 87, of Philadelphia, died Tuesday, April 9, 2019. She was a native of the Bloomo Community in Neshoba County and a longtime Philadelphia resident.  She graduated from Bloomo School and played basketball at East Central.  She was a longtime employee of Bank of Philadelphia and NBC; W. D. Moore, Attorney; Molpus Lumber Company; and most recently worked for Vowell’s Marketplace.   Mrs. Killen was a founding member of Grace Baptist Church where she served in many capacities as pianist, Sunday school secretary, choir member, church clerk and historian, and floral director.  She was a former member and past president of Business & Professional Women’s (BPW) Club and Band Parents Organization. Survivors include daughter, Cheri Hucks (Barry) of Meridian; son, Gary Killen (Kitty) of Picayune; five grandchildren, Dianne Heard (Mark) of Meridian, Brian Hucks (Ashley) of Carrollton, AL, Keri Griggs (Jay) of Picayune, Morgan Killen of Hattiesburg, and Matthew Killen of Picayune; great-grandchildren, Presleigh, Weston, Gunner, Emma Grace, Sadie and Mason; sister, Helen Blalock of Clinton; brothers, Derrell Thomas (Cathy) of Mobile, AL, Robert Thomas (Weegie) of Philadelphia; numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Mrs. Killen was preceded in death by husband, Hubert Killen; parents, Herman and Flora Thomas. In lieu of flowers, family requests memorials be made to Grace Baptist Church Building Fund, or your charity of choice.
