Funeral services for Lewis Jerome Ferguson will be held Saturday, November 9, 2024 at 2 p.m. from Arlington Baptist Church with Rev. Dwight Fleming officiating. Burial will follow in Arlington Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday, November 9, 2024 from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Home and the from 1 p.m. until service time at Arlington Baptist Church.
Mr. Ferguson, 78, of Philadelphia, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 6, 2024.
Lewis was a native and lifelong resident of Neshoba County and was a graduate of Neshoba Central High School in 1964. His parents instilled in him the values of hard work and dedication. He carried these values throughout his career, working diligently on the assembly line, where he was respected by colleagues and known for his strong work ethic and commitment. He worked various jobs through out his life including working as a fireman for many years. He enjoyed wood carving, making walking sticks, rocking chairs with no nails, porch swings, various knick-knacks and being will known for his automotive knowledge. Lewis loved spending time with his family especially with the love of his life “Ms Audra”. Mr. Ferguson was a member of Arlington Baptist Church.
Lewis will be remembered for his kindness and dedication to his family and the warmth he brought to all who knew him.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 58 years, Audra Faye Ferguson; nephew, Larry Michael Duke; niece, Jennifer Dawn Fortenberry; mother in law, Phyllis Melton; sister in law, Diane Lanig all of whom cherished their time with him and will forever hold his memory in their hearts.
Mr. Ferguson was preceded in death by his daughter, Cindy Kay Ferguson; parents, Swinton and Jessie May Ferguson.
