Lester Nowell

Services for Lester H. Nowell will be held Wednesday, October 23, 2019, at 11 a. m. from McClain-Hays Chapel with Rev. Wade Chappel and Bro. Ricky Summers officiating.  Burial will follow in Old Pearl Valley Cemetery in Neshoba County.  Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 22, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Home.  McClain-Hays Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.  Mr. Nowell, 79, died Sunday, October 20, 2019, at Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian. He was a native and longtime resident of Neshoba County.  He worked at U. S. Motors, and then Nemanco until his retirement.  Mr. Nowell was a member of Old Pearl Valley Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Georgia Nowell of Philadelphia; daughters; Mary Annette Allen of Braxton and Patricia Lynn Wilson of Meridian; son, Michael Kenneth Nowell (Paula) of Meridian; grandchildren, Christopher Austin Allen, Leslie Darlene Lampkin, Michael Dean Allen and Courtney Gail Lawrence; great-grandchildren, Caydence Allen, Aden Dean Allen, Buck Wyatt Allen, Jayda Lawrence, Jocelyn Lawrence, Caleb Lawrence; and a host of nieces and nephews.  Mr. Nowell was preceded in death by parents, Raphel and Estelle Nowell; sisters, Barbara Burks, Sarah Diane Nowell , Mary L. Moody; and brother, Samuel Charles Nowell.
