Funeral Services for Lena P. Davis will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at 1:00 pm. from McClain-Hays Chapel with Rev. Les Ferguson Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Edinburg Community Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday, September 28, 2024 from 12 Noon until service time at McClain-Hays Funeral Home. Lena P. Davis, age 83, of Carthage, MS, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 25th, 2024. Born on Thursday, November 14th, 1940, Lena was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose life touched the hearts of many. A lifelong homemaker, Lena dedicated her life to nurturing her family and home with love and care. She had a passion for crossword puzzles, gardening, reading, cooking, crocheting, and sewing. Lena was an active and devoted member of the South Huntington Church of Christ in Kosciusko, where she made long-lasting friendships and contributed significantly to her community. She dearly loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be surely missed by all. Lena was preceded in death by her loving husband, Cecil W. Davis; her great-granddaughter, Aerity Grace Davis; her sisters, Catherine Adkins, Louise Cumberland, and Marie Pilgrim; and her brothers, Pete and Leslie Ellingburg. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Selena Spears (David); her sons, Mark W. Davis and Cecil Ray Davis. Lena was a cherished grandmother to Melissa Spears, Jordan Davis (Mallory), and Nicholas Spears; and a great-grandmother to Killian Davis and a soon-to-arrive great-granddaughter due in November. Lena is also survived by her sisters, Gertrude Herrington, and her brothers, David Ellingburg, Glen Ellingburg, and Charles Ellingburg, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and their families who will fondly remember her warmth and zest for life. Pallbearers for the service will be David Ellingburg, Glen Ellingburg, Trent Ellingburg, Vic Hamilton, Jordan Davis, and Nicholas Spears. Family requests all memorials be made to Alzheimer's Association or Parkinson's Disease Research Foundation.
