Funeral services for Reda Faye McDonald will be held Monday, January 22, 2024 at 11 a.m. from Coye Assembly of God Church with Rev. Ronnie Malone and Rev. Mitchell McDonald officiating. Burial will follow in Coye Assembly Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday, January 21, 2024 from 5 until 8 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. until service time on Monday, January 22, 2024 at Coye Assembly of God Church. Ms. McDonald, 78, of Preston, died Thursday, January 18, 2024 at her home. Reda was a lifelong resident of the Preston Community in Kemper County. She worked at the blanket factory in DeKalb, Wells Lamont and Wal-Mart in Philadelphia and then became a caregiver. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and quilting. Ms. McDonald was a member of Coye Assembly of God Church. Survivors include sons, Doug McDonald and Allen McDonald (Mary Lynn) both of Preston; grandchildren, Raney , Champ, and Ashlee McDonald of Preston and Sarah Higginbotham (Ben) of Philadelphia; great-grandchildren, Brycen, Kaylin and Caden Higginbotham and Riley Grace Hill; sisters, Roxie Richardson, Rachel Malone and Becky Smith; a host of nieces, nephews and their families. Ms. McDonald was preceded in death by husband, Delane McDonald; mother, Loridia Williams; father, Carl “Buddy” Williams; sisters, Seretha Hartness, Naydean Haston and Barbara Kay Fanning. Pallbearers, Shawn Luke, John Stokes, Jeff Goodin, Stan Copeland, Johnny Malone, Marty Malone, Lee McDonald and Ben Higginbotham.
