Funeral Services for Lanoy Adcock will be held on Thursday January 18, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. from McClain-Hays Chapel with Bro. Chris O'Daniel officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday January 18, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until service time at McClain-Hays. Interment will follow in the East County Line Cemetery. Lanoy was a lifelong resident of the Vowell Town community in Winston County .He was a graduate of Zama High School and began his career in manufacturing at Sheller Globe in Kosciusko as a welder on the assembly line. Due to his perseverance and determined work ethic, he became a production manager at Sheller Globe, continuing in that role after moving to the Spartus Corporation in Louisville. Upon his retirement from manufacturing, he fulfilled his dream of becoming a full-time farmer, cattleman, and tree farmer. He was successful in these endeavors and during this time was named Winston County Tree Farmer of the Year, as well as Cattleman of the Year. His hobbies included hunting, attending the weekly cattle sale, and making improvements to the family farm. He was most proud of his growing family. Mr. Adcock was a member of Zama Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Joanne Adcock; daughters Jamie Calvert (Speedy) and Angie Breland (Andy); and grandchildren Drew Breland (Hollie) and Dr. Sarah Skinner (Thad) of Philadelphia, Nathan Calvert (Alexandria) of Alexandria, Virginia, and Lucas Calvert (Leah) of Decatur; great-grandchildren include Maddie James, Beau, and Tripp Breland, and Ruby, Ace, and Rhodes Calvert. Mr. Adcock was preceded in death by his parents, Odell and Calvin Adcock, and his mother and father-in-law, Arietta and Fred Taylor. Serving as pallbearers are Drew Breland, Nathan Calvert, Lucas Calvert, Dr. Thad Skinner, Tyler Hardy, David Lawrence, Byron Nowell, and Jerry Jack Nowell. Honorary pallbearers are Larry Nelson and Joey Nelson. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to East County Line Cemetery, c/o Honey Nowell, 750 Nowell-Taylor Road, McCool, MS 39108.
