A graveside service will be held at 2:00 on Monday, March 30, 2020, at Good Hope Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Len Wedgeworth and Rev. Ed Newman officiating. McClain-Hays Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Clark, 89, of Philadelphia, died Saturday, March 28, 2020, at his home. A native of Neshoba County, he lived in Meridian for 50 years until retiring from Mississippi Power Company after 45 years. While in Meridian he was secretary of the King Solomon Lodge #333 for 38 years, and he was a lifetime member of the York & Scottish rites. He was a Shriner in the Hamasa Temple and served as potentate in 1976. He was a member and served on the board of the AFLCIO for over 30 years. Mr. Clark was president of the Meridian Central Labor for 36 years, and was a member of IBEW Local 1209 for 60 years. He enjoyed hunting and sports; and after his retirement he moved back to Neshoba County. Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Ruth Ellingburg Clark of Philadelphia, MS; daughters, Kathy Brittian (Mike) of McKinney, TX, and Karen Humphreys of Lawrence, MS; granddaughter, Brandy Young (Chris) of McKinney, TX; sister, Martha Ethridge of Meridian, MS; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Clark was preceded in death by parents, Doris and Linnie Clark; sister, Opal Ricks; and brothers, Herman and Hollis Clark.
