Services for Kenneth Wells will be held Friday, March 30, 2018, at 11 a. m. from McClain-Hays Chapel with Elder Hilton Moore and Rev. Chris Vowell officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery in Neshoba County. Visitation will be held Thursday, March 29, 2018, from 5 p.m. until 8 p. m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Home. Mr. Wells, 82, of Philadelphia, died Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian. He was a native and longtime resident of Spring Hill Community of Neshoba County. Mr. Wells was Primitive Baptist by faith. A retired supervisor from U. S. Motors in Philadelphia, he was an avid gardener, fisherman and cattle farmer. There were three places Boss loved to go...the Hoot Owl every April, the Fair every July and to Snake Lake everyday! He loved to cook stew, have a garden, and take the grandkids fishing and hunting (even if he could only sit in the truck and watch). He was one of a kind and will truly be missed by all his family and friends. Survivors include daughters, Cyndi (David) Weldy of Philadelphia, Kay (Stanley) Salter of Philadelphia, and Gina Daly of Philadelphia; grandchildren, Michael (Heather) Weldy, Taylor (Johnna) Weldy, Tate Salter, Whitney (Brad) Vance, Sydnee and Gracee Wells, Owen and Kara Daly; seven great-grandchildren, Brette and Morgan Weldy; Tanner, Jon Byars and Tatum Salter; Barron and Porter Vance; longtime family friend, Jerry Whitehead; brothers-in-law, Steve (Jenny Lynn) Wilkerson; Bob (Dorothy) Wilkerson; sisters-in-law, Faye (Robert) Hoyt, and Frances Page; numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Mr. Wells was preceded in death by his wife, Willie Jean Wilkerson Wells; son, Ben Wells; parents, Arnold and Bessie Wells; siblings, James, Johnny, and Larry Wells, Ruby Stephens, Rachel Saxon, Mary Collins and Joyce Sharp. Pallbearers are Willard Posey, Max Kilpatrick, Terry Jordan, Kenny McLain, Steve Barriger, Joe Addy, Butch Newman, Chris Guyse, Joe Beckham. Honorary pallbearers are The HOOT Brotherhood & The Snake Lake Crew.
