Katherine Majure Farned

Visitation for Katherine Majure Farned will be held June 12, 2023 at 2 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Cedarlawn Cemetery at 3 p.m. on June 12, 2023 with Dr. Dan Howard officiating. Ms. Farned, 98, of Denton, TX, died Friday, May 12, 2023. Katherine was born to Reuel and Marcie (Gardner) Majure on April 12, 1925 in the Dixon Community of Neshoba County. She married William F. Farned on May 27, 1946 in Union, MS. She moved to Denton, TX in July of 2012. Ms. Farned was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Philadelphia. Survivors include her daughters, Pat (Walker) Dunn of Midland, TX., Marty (John) England of Denton, TX and Kathy (Dennis) Hoelscher of Christoval, TX; grandchildren, Susan Dunn of Midland, TX, Jason England of The Colony, TX, Aaron (Kayla) Dunn of San Antonio, TX, Sarah (Hayden) Willborn of Coahoma, TX and Maddie Hoelscher of Van, TX; great-grandchildren, Piper and Walker Dunn, Katherine Dunn and Rhett Willborn all of Texas; numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Ms. Farned was preceded in death by her husband in 2007; parents; brothers, Lockridge and Omer Majure; sister, Carrie Shealy.
