Joseph Lemoine

Graveside services for Joseph Lemoine will be held Thursday, October 14, 2021 at 11 am at the V.A. Memorial Cemetery in Newton, MS. McClain-Hays is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Lemoine, 91, died Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Brookdale Assisted living in Meridian, MS. Mr. Lemoine was a native of Moreauville, LA. He served in the U.S. Navy for over 30 years until he retired, during his service time he traveled around the world to various places. Joseph met his life partner Josephine Hughes while he was stationed in Morocco. After his retirement from the Navy he worked for the Lauderdale County V.A. Administration for several years. Survivors include a sister, Anna Lee Burke of Moreauville, LA; two nieces, Sharron Debea of Alexandria, LA and Joann Lemoine of Baton Rouge, LA; three nephews, Glen Burke of Moreauville, LA, Don Burke of Watson, LA and Royce Lemoine of Baton Rouge, LA; and his self adopted family in Preston, MS. He was preceded in death by his life partner, Josephine Hughes; brothers, Maxwell Lemoine and Anthony Royce Lemoine.
