Mr. Pierce, 63, died Saturday, February 8, 2025.

Johnny was a proud native of Neshoba County, having graduated from Neshoba Central High School in 1979. He dedicated 33 years of his career as a chief engineer with Edison Chouest Offshore Company, where he worked on the research vessel Ice Breaker Nathaniel B. Palmer.  For 21 years, he called Punta Arenas, Chile, his home. He found joy in simple pleasures, such as watching movies and enjoying coffee on the back porch. However, what brought him the most fulfillment was the time spent with his family, especially his children and grandchildren, who were the center of his world.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 21 years, Claudia Duque, of Punta Arenas, Chile; daughters Crysanna (Yancy) Johnson of Mt. Holley, North Carolina, and Catalina Pierce Duque of Punta Arenas, Chile; son Johnny Pierce Duque of Punta Arenas, Chile; and grandchildren Paz Chiguay, Cadence Johnson, and Canaan Johnson. Additionally, he is survived by his sister Pam (Alvin) Neese of Philadelphia, niece Valerie (Jason) Ballard, and nephew Joey (Erika) Neese.

Johnny's legacy is enriched by the memories he created with his family, and he will be deeply missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Billy Joe and Patsy Pierce; his son, Claudio Chiguay Duque; and his brother, Billy Pierce Jr.
