Services for Johnnie Stegall will be held Sunday, October 21, 2018, at 2 p.m. from McClain-Hays Chapel with Rev. Tony Linley and Rev. Bryan Madison officiating. Burial will follow in Commer Family Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday, October 21, 2018, from 12:30 until service time at McClain-Hays Funeral Home. Mr. Stegall, 83, of Philadelphia, died Wednesday, October 17, 2018. He was a native and longtime resident of Meridian, MS, until his retirement with The Meridian Star. He moved to Neshoba County in 2000, and lived here until his death. Mr. Stegall was a member of Mars Hill Baptist Church in Winston County. Survivors include his sister-in-law, Dorothy (Jasper) Commer; nephews Donnie (Faron) Commer, Terry (Tammie) Commer; nieces, Betty (Jimmy) Kirkland, Pam (Wendell) Manning; nine great-nieces and nephews; seventeen great-great nieces and nephews, all of Philadelphia. He was preceded in death by his wife, Neva Ferguson Stegall; and parents, Cleo and Vernell Stegall. Pallbearers are Donald Joe Nowell, Jeffrey Kirkland, Trenton Kirkland, Jacob Kirkland, Colton Ingram, Stuart Ingram, Nathan Commer, Trevor Commer, Jay Dee Madison, J.P. Watson and Josh Commer.
