Graveside services for John “Pete” Ellingburg will be held Wednesday, July 8, 2020, at 11 a.m. at Eastlawn Cemetery with Rev. Jack Foster officiating. McClain-Hays Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Ellingburg, 71, of Philadelphia, died Monday, July 6, 2020. He was a native and longtime resident of Neshoba County. He served in the United States Marine Corp in the Vietnam War, and after his service he logged for most of his life. He loved to garden, hunt and fish. Mr. Ellingburg was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Marsha Ellingburg of Philadelphia; daughters, Belinda Long (Joey) of Philadelphia and Shannon Statler Taylor (Brian) of Conehatta; son, Robert Aaron Bass of Philadelphia; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Gertrude Herrington of Philadelphia, Lena Pearl Davis (Cecil) of Edinburg, Marie Pilgrim of Carthage, and Catherine Adkins of Philadelphia; brothers, Charles Ellingburg (Hazel) of Philadelphia, David Ellingburg (Betty) of Carthage, and Glen Ellingburg of Meridian ; a host of nieces and nephews. Mr. Ellingburg was preceded in death by his son, J.T. Bass; parents, Luther and Pearlie Ellingburg; sister, Louise Cumberland; brother, Leslie Ellingburg. Pallbearers are William Long, Matthew Long, Cody Thaggard, Landon Bass, Joey Long and Brian Taylor.
