John H. Waddell

Funeral services for John H. Waddell will be held Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at 2 p.m. from McClain-Hays Chapel with Rev. Mack Alford and Dr. Wayne Hill officiating. Burial will follow in Linwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday, September 30, 2024 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Home. Mr. Waddell, 80, of Philadelphia died Saturday, September 28, 2024. John was a native and lifelong resident of Neshoba County and graduated from Philadelphia High School. He worked with PGI of Philadelphia for a few years and then was a sales clerk in the Automotive Industry until he retired. He enjoyed gardening, making cane syrup and most of all visiting with family and friends and helping anyone who needed it. Mr. Waddell was member of Beacon Street Baptist Church. Survivors include his son, Brian Waddell (Brandi); grandchildren, Jacob Waddell, Whitney Berry (Russell) and Kooper Lane Darby; great-granddaughter, Riley Berry; a host of nieces and nephews. Mr. Waddell was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus Elbert and Callie Waddell; nine brothers, and two sisters. Pallbearers will be Bill Bradley, Danny Price, Aaron Waddell, Mike Lewis, Jacob Waddell and Mike Dunn.
