Joe Ella Cosgrove

Services for Mrs. Joe Ella Cosgrove will be held Friday, June 15, 2018, at 2 p.m. from McClain-Hays Chapel with Rev. Brian Weir and Rev. Gene Higginbotham officiating. Burial will follow in Longino Community Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 14, 2018, from 5 until 8 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Home. Mrs. Cosgrove, 97, of Philadelphia, died Wednesday, June, 13, 2018, at Neshoba County Nursing Home.She was a native and lifelong resident of Neshoba County. After graduating from Zephyr Hill High School in 1938, she graduated from East Central, and then attended MSCW in Columbus, MS, where she received her Home Economics Bachelor of Science degree in 1942. She worked as a public educator until her retirement. Mrs. Cosgrove was a member of Longino Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School and VBS for many years.Survivors include daughters, Linda Croft (Thomas) of Philadelphia, MS and Susan Cosgrove of Philadelphia, MS; son, Mike Cosgrove (Sylvia) of Lawrence, MS; grandchildren, Greg Cosgrove (Debbie), Allen Cosgrove, Brad Cosgrove (Lori), Joel Cosgrove (Lindsey), Chris Croft (Terri), Cindy Croft; great-grandchildren, Brittany Cosgrove, Kelsey Cosgrove, Kaleigh Cosgrove, Caleb Cosgrove, Sydnee Cosgrove, Dean Cosgrove, Ella Cosgrove and Finn Cosgrove. Mrs. Cosgrove was preceded in death by husband, M. J. Cosgrove; and parents, Joseph and Hazel Smith.Pallbearers are Greg Cosgrove, Allen Cosgrove, Brad Cosgrove, Joel Cosgrove, Chris Croft and Caleb Cosgrove.
