Services for Joe C. Beeland will be held Thursday, October 12, 2023 at 11 a.m. from McClain-Hays Chapel with Rev. Mark Cloys officiating. Interment will follow in Cedarlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 12, 2023 from 10 a.m. until service time at McClain-Hays Funeral Home. Mr. Beeland, 93, of Philadelphia, passed from this life on Saturday, October 7, 2023. Mr. Joe was a lifelong native of Neshoba County. After graduating from Philadelphia High School he enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served four years and was stationed in Guam. He returned to Philadelphia and married his wife of 54 years, Charlotte Tucker, in 1961. In the early days, he worked for various auto dealers but ultimately retired from Philadelphia Utilities. Mr. Beeland was a dedicated member of East Philadelphia Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School teacher. He was a loving, caring Christian husband, father, and grandfather who was well-known for his witty, comical nature. Throughout his long life he enjoyed gardening, photography, listening to Bluegrass Music, and anything related to Western. He “Should have been a Cowboy”. Survivors include daughters, Jan Chisholm (Mike), Lisa Reeves (Randy) and Wendy Kirkland (Shon); grandchildren, Brittany Chisholm Collins (Dillon), Jon Morgan Chisholm, Katye Kirkland, Chloe Kirkland and Kenley Kirkland; and a host of extended family members. Mr. Beeland was preceded in death by wife, Charlotte Tucker Beeland; parents, Lloyd Beeland and Velma Guice Beeland. Pallbearers are Mike Chisholm, Randy Reeves, Shon Kirkland, Jon Morgan Chisholm, Dillon Collins, James Thomas, Wayne Goldman and Pruit Willis.
