Jimmy Glen Moore was born March 30, 1955, in Union, Newton County,
Mississippi.
Jimmy began a career in the offshore drilling industry in 1975 from which he retired in 2010. He began as roughneck and ended it as the safety director for a worldwide drilling corporation. He mentored many young people coming up in the oil industry and always said, "I am not doing my job unless I am training someone coming behind me to do it."
He was the best Poppa to his grandchildren. They will have many happy memories
and "Poppa Stories" to tell about the fun they had with him. He was an avid Alabama
Football Fan and loved smack talking with his friends like Vince, Janet and Steve.
He also loved to play practical jokes on friends and most knew if they did something to
him they better start watching behind because he would think of something to get them
back. He enjoyed woodworking and made many heirloom pieces of furniture for various
family members.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years Charlene Moore, his son, Jeremy Glen Moore (Ellen),
daughter, Nancy Elizabeth Moore Sellers (Matthew) and four grandchildren.
He is also survived by his mother, Velma Jean Chancey Ezelle; brother, John Patrick
Ezelle (Tracy); sister, Joni Ezelle Boling (Chip) and many other relatives and
friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Floyd Washington Moore, Jr.
Pallbearers are Jerry Thomas, Larry Winstead, Drew Winstead, Jeremy Moore, James Moore and Matthew Sellers.
