Services for Jimmy Glass will be held Wednesday, January 23, 2019, at 2 p. m. from McClain-Hays Chapel with Rev. Larry Savell and Rev. Melvin Mordecai officiating. Burial will follow in Henry’s Chapel Cemetery in Neshoba County. Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 22, 2019, from 5 p. m. until 8 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Home. McClain-Hays Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Glass, 73, of Philadelphia, died Monday, January 21, 2019. He was a native of Neshoba County and longtime resident of the Fork Community. He worked for A & P in Philadelphia, MS, Ft. Walton Beach, FL, and New Orleans, LA, from which he retired as meat market manager. He was a board member of Longino Volunteer Fire Department. Mr. Glass was a member of Beatline Baptist Church. He had served in the Mississippi National Guard with the 298th Maintenance Battalion. Survivors include his wife, Brenda Glass of Philadelphia, MS; daughter, LeAnne Barnes (David Lee) of Philadelphia, MS; sons, Houston Glass (Marian Vigo) of Kenner, LA, Robert Glass of Belle Chasse, LA; grandchildren, Valarie Ferguson (Rocky) of Union, MS, Jonathan Whinery (Melanie) of Philadelphia, MS, Kayla Glass (Tyler Abner)) of Richmond, KY, Deanna Smith (Matt) of Philadelphia, MS, and Noah Glass of Cincinnati, OH; great-grandchildren, Keith Bishop, Kaleb Bishop, Erin Ferguson, Jesse Clark, Franklin Whinery, Joseph Whinery and Riley Abner; brother, Buddy Glass (Mary) of Gulf Shores, AL. Mr. Glass was preceded in death by his parents, Lawton and Gertie Glass; wife, Marie Landrum Glass; sister, Vera Ladd; and two infant brothers. Pallbearers are Houston Glass, Matt Smith, David Lee, James Threet, Tony Landrum and Jonathan Whinery.
