Jimmy Bishop

Services for Jimmy Bishop will be held Tuesday, May 8, 2018, at 3:30 p.m. from Gospel Lighthouse Church in Newton with Rev. Robert Roncoli officiating. Burial will follow in Masonic Cemetery in Newton.   Visitation will be held one hour prior to service at the church.  McClain-Hays Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Bishop, 66, of Soso, MS, died Saturday, May 5, 2018,  at Select Specialty Hospital-Jackson. He was a native and longtime resident of Newton, MS.  He was a farmer and former truck driver, and set up mobile homes.  Mr. Bishop was Pentecostal by faith. Survivors include his son, James Bishop of Vicksburg; two granddaughters; four nieces, Kim Bynum of Soso, Lynn Clark and Lori May, both of Wiggins, and Kaye Cates of Hernando; nephew, Franklin McDaniel of Newton; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Doris Bishop; and his brother, Jerry Bishop. Pallbearers will be Dylan Todd, Willie Shows, Eric McClure, Wesley Bynum, Bruce Clark and Brent Clark.  Honorary pallbearers will be Levi Culpepper and Franklin McDaniel.
