Services for Jim Brooks will be held Monday, September 13, 2021, at 3:30 p.m. from McClain-Hays Chapel with Rev. Jackie Strebeck officiating. Burial will follow in the Golden Grove Cemetery in Neshoba County. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until service time. McClain-Hays Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Brooks, 84, died Saturday, September 11, 2021. A longtime resident of the Golden Grove Community in Neshoba County, he attended County Line School until consolidation, at which time he furthered his education in the Union Public School System. Mr. Brooks served in the U. S. Army from 1959 until 1965, and was deployed overseas to Germany in the 2nd Battle 6th Infantry during the Berlin Brigade. After serving in the Army, he worked at various construction companies as a service mechanic. He retired after 25 years of employment with Lauderdale County. Mr. Brooks is survived by his sister, Wydell Smith of Chunky, MS. Pallbearers are Samuel McCloud, Jackie Smith, George Dean, Eugene Alexander, Joe Alexander, and Grady Scarborough.
