Services for Jerome Manning will be held Thursday, October 10, 2019, at 11 a. m. from McClain-Hays Chapel with Rev. Dennis Duvall and Joe Pou officiating. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery in Neshoba County. Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 9, 2019, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Home. Mr. Manning, 61, of Philadelphia, died Monday, October 7, 2019, at his home. He was born in Shreveport, LA, and lived most his life in Neshoba County. He graduated from Philadelphia High School in 1977. He worked for Coiled Tubing & Penrod companies in the oil industry for several years; and for the past forty years he was co-owner and operator of the original Pow-Wow Drive-In and Hope Country Store. Mr. Manning attended Hope Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Sherry Manning of Philadelphia; sons, J. J. Manning and James Louis Manning (Chaney), both of Philadelphia; grandchildren, Cappy Rose Manning and Jo-Jo Manning; mother, Barbara Guynes of Philadelphia; sisters, Sheila Cannon, Angie Stokes, and Regina Anderson, all of Philadelphia; brothers, Stanley Manning (Phyllis) and Gerald Griffin, both of Philadelphia; mother-in-law, Joyce Pou of Philadelphia; and a host of nieces and nephews. Mr. Manning was preceded in death by his father, Frank Manning; and father-in-law, Junior Pou.
