Services for Jerome Daniel Copeland will be held Tuesday February 13, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. from McClain-Hays Chapel.Visitation will be held Monday February 12, 2018 from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at McClain-Hays Funeral Home with Rev. Thomas Fortenberry and Rev. Jay Cassel officiating.Interment will be in Cedarlawn Cemetery. Mr. Copeland, 79, of Philadelphia, died Sunday, February 11, 2018. He was a native of  the Lynville Community of Kemper County and a longtime resident of Philadelphia.  He was also a former resident of Mobile, AL, and worked for Dairy Fresh Milk Company prior to moving to Philadelphia where he was employed with U. S. Motors until retirement.  He coached Little League baseball at Northside Park for 28 years and loved Ole Miss sports. Mr. Copeland was Baptist by faith and a member of New Ireland Baptist Church in Union. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Jo Ann Copeland of Philadelphia; children, Edwin Copeland(Dawn) of Philadelphia; Pam Fortenberry (Thomas) of Union; Bootsie Copeland (Jan) of Monticello, AR; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Wayne Copeland of Preston; Danny Copeland of Philadelphia; numerous nieces, nephews and their families.Mr. Copeland was preceded in death by sister, Brenda McLauchlin; and brother, Jimmy Copeland.Pallbearers are Shawn Anderson, Logan Copeland, Joey Copeland, Marty Copeland, Buddy Parker, David Johnson, Jason Peavy and Tanner Fortenberry.  In lieu of flowers family requests that memorials be made to New Ireland Baptist Church, or Philadelphia Municipal Park System.
