Jennie Sapienza Vowell

Services for Mrs. Jennie Vowell will be held on Wednesday June 6, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. from Holy Cross Catholic Church with Father Augustine Palimattam officiating.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday June 5, 2018 from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at McClain-Hays Funeral Home.  Interment will be in Arlington Baptist Church Cemetery.Mrs. Vowell, 88, of Philadelphia, died Sunday, June 3, 2018, at her home.   A native of Chicago, she was a resident of Neshoba County for the past 60 years. She retired after working 38 years for Spartus Clock Factory in Louisville.  She loved cooking, gardening and fishing. She was a perfect mom. Mrs. Vowell was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Philadelphia.  Survivors include daughters, Marlene Carter (David), Jennie L. Pitts (Russell), Sandra Jean Vowell, all of Philadelphia, and Janice Manning (Terry) of Plattsburg; sister, Grace Salmon of Chicago, IL; five grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Vowell was preceded in death by husband, Hilton Vowell; parents, Salvatore and Grace Sapienza from Sicily; brother, Joseph, who died in the Navy, WWII; sisters, Lena, Tresa, Angie and Josie. Pallbearers are Edwin Carter, David Carter, Rob Carter, Eric Carter, Jason Carter and Russell Pitts.
