Jeffery Pettis

Services will be held Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at 12:00 noon from Evans Tabernacle in Union, Ms. with Bro. Nolan Pinter officiating. Burial will follow in Evans Tabernacle Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 11, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Home. Mr. Pettis, 51, of Conehatta, died Friday, April 7, 2023, at Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian. Jeffery was born in Meridian, MS, and attended Newton High School. He was employed as a truck driver almost all of his life; and loved to fish, camp, and anything outdoors. Mr. Pettis was Christian by faith. Survivors include his parents, Ivan and Patricia Day of Conehatta, MS; daughter, Summer Pettis; sons, William Gilbert and Alex Thompson; sisters, Teresa Fincher and Jennifer Wilkerson of Detroit, MI; and brothers, Thomas Fincher (Christy) of Philadelphia, MS, and Richard Pettis (Julie) of Union, MS. Preceding Mr. Pettis in death were his son, JC Gilbert; and grandmother, Shelby Pettis.
