Services for Jasper Lynn Pope will be held Friday, February 16, 2018, at 2 p.m. from McClain-Hays Chapel with Rev. Leslie Courtney and Rev. Derrick Townsend officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Neshoba County. Visitation will be held Thursday, February 15, 2018, from 5 until 8 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Home. Mr. Pope, 73, of Philadelphia, died Tuesday, February 13, 2018, at Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. He was a native and longtime resident of Neshoba County. He formerly worked at McClain-Hays Funeral Service in Philadelphia and operated a poultry farm. He was a CB radio enthusiast and was known by the handle “Coast King”. He loved his time spent with children and grandchildren. Mr. Pope was a member of Macedonia Revival Center. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Janie Pope of Philadelphia; daughter, Renee’ (Andrew) Phillips of Philadelphia, Inger (Sonny) Palmer of Edinburg, Malissia Heardon (Lee) of Wade, MS; son, Eric (Mary Ann) Pope of Philadelphia; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; brothers, Eldon and Johnny Pope, both of Philadelphia; numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Mr. Pope was preceded in death by parents, Fat Tom and Sudie Pope; brother, Rayburn Pope; and grandchild, Jeremy Dewayne Moore. Pallbearers are Johnathan Spears, Channing Pope, John Tyler Palmer, Kevin Pope, Brett Pope, Austin Palmer and Dustin Pope. Honorary pallbearers are Jody Pope, Casey Pope, Lucas Pope, Colby Pope and Earl Adams.
