Janell T. Shepherd

A graveside service for Janell T. Shepherd will be held Monday, November 22, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. from Coldwater Cemetery with Dr. Dan Howard officiating. McClain-Hays Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Shepherd, 98, of Philadelphia, died Saturday, November 20, 2021, at her home. She was a native of Neshoba County and a graduate of Coldwater High School. After marrying she and her husband moved away from Neshoba County for several years until their retirement and moved back home. She enjoyed cooking for her family, flower gardening, and her animals. Mrs. Shepherd was a member of First Baptist Church of Philadelphia. Survivors include daughter, Jan T. Shepherd of Philadelphia, MS; great-nephews, Ricky Smith of Sebastopol, Jeff Smith of Philadelphia, MS, Joe Smith of Richmond, VA; niece, Jackie Slay of Terry, MS; and longtime family friend, Mary M. Thacker of Pearl, MS. Mrs. Shepherd was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde A. Shepherd; parents, Tebe Leon and Della Turner; sisters, Effie Smith and Betty Turner; brothers, Bill Turner and John Martin Turner.
