James W. "Jim" Vick

Graveside service for James W. “Jim” Vick will be held Wednesday, November 21, 2018, at 10 a.m. from Lynville Cemetery in Preston with Bro. Tyler Vick and Rev. Kevin Vaughn officiating.  Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 20, 2018, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Home.   McClain-Hays Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.  Mr. Vick, 72, of Preston, died Monday, November 19, 2018, at Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian. He was a native of Roanoke Rapids, NC.  He enlisted in the U. S. Navy in 1966, and received several medals and commendations during his four years of active duty and two years Reserve before being honorably discharged.  After serving his country he began work at the United States Postal Service where he became the postmaster of Preston, MS, and retired after 34 years of service.  Mr. Vick was a member of Lynville United Methodist Church of Preston. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Geraldine Vick of Preston; one son, Mark Vick (Becky) of Collinsville; and two grandsons, Tyler Vick and Brett Vick.
