James Quentin "J. Q." Goforth

Services for James Quentin "J Q" Goforth will be held Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. from Pine Grove Baptist Church in the House community. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, November 14, 2022 at McClain-Hays Funeral Home and from 1:00 p.m. until service time on Tuesday at the church. Brother Rusty Walton and Brother Joseph Knight will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Goforth, 92, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2022 at Ochsner Rush Health in Meridian, MS. He was a native and longtime resident of Neshoba County and a graduate from House High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served in the National Guard for several years. Mr. Goforth worked as a terminal manager for Miller Transport Inc. until he retired after 30 years. He enjoyed cattle farming and coon hunting when he was younger. He was a member and served as deacon for Pine Grove Baptist Church in the House community of Neshoba County. Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Celia Maxine Goforth of House; son, Steve J. Goforth of House; four step-grandchildren, Chris Goss, Anthony Goss, Jeremy Goss and Becky Goss; three brother-in-laws, Kenneth Gray, Jimmy Gray and Danny Gray; one sister-in-law, Sandra Gray Jones.
