James Burks

A graveside service will be held Friday, January 27, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. from Mars Hill Cemetery in Winston County with Rev. Richard Burks officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday, January 27, 2023, from 5:00 p. m. until 8:00 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Home. Mr. Burks, 40, of Philadelphia, died Tuesday, January 24, 2023. He was a native and lifelong resident of Neshoba County and attended Neshoba Central. Small engine repair was his trade. He served in the Mississippi National Guard 155th Calvary in Natchez and was deployed to Iraq. He loved hunting, fishing, and canoeing. Survivors include daughter, Zoe Burks; son, Adam Burks; mother and stepdad, Jeanene Ray (Richard); father and stepmother, John Burks (Wanda); brother, Jarad Burks (Nickie); grandmother, Rosalyn Burks; aunt, Kathy Moore; and four nephews. Preceding Mr. Burks in death were his grandparents, James Burks, Leroy Coghlan, and Bobbie Corr.
