Jacqueline Duncan Dunn

July 22, 1935 — January 12, 2022

Jacqueline Dunn, known as “Jackie” to family and friends, was called home to be with Jesus on January 12, 2022. Jackie was born in Philadelphia, Mississippi, and attended Holy Rosary Catholic Church and School as a child. She next attended Cathedral High School in Natchez, Mississippi. Jackie then went on to attend Millsaps College in Jackson, MS, before marrying and moving to Houston, Texas, where she worked with her husband, Jim, growing their family business, James L. Dunn and Associates, while starting and raising their family. At 86 years of age, Jackie still enjoyed her daily three-mile walks. She also enjoyed attending church and social functions with her friends in Houston. She loved traveling to visit her family and friends throughout Texas, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Alabama. Her pride and joy were her children, their spouses, and her eight grandchildren. Jackie enjoyed spending as much time as possible with them and attended every milestone event. One of her favorite pastimes was spending time at her beach house with all her grandchildren where they built forts together and went for rides along the beach in her golf cart. Jackie loved the little things like donuts, the ‘Aggies”, fruit cake, Elvis, sailing, flying, flowers, Luby’s, birds, Galveston Beach, and getting her hair done. She was a beautiful, compassionate woman full of life and energy. If she thought something was right, or needed to be done, you can bet that it was going to happen. If it was up to Jackie, it would happen within the next five minutes. Throughout her life the one constant was her love for family and friends. They were everything to her. Thank you for loving Jackie. She will be missed in so many ways. Jackie is survived by her daughter, Stacey Isenhart, son-in-law, Joe Isenhart, and their children, Sam, Braden, Emma, and Sophie; daughter-in-law, Chrissy Dunn, and children, Christopher, Hayley (husband Collin Shepherd), Scott and Erin. She is also survived by her brother, Jimmie Duncan; and sisters-in-law, Barbara Duncan and Alicia Duncan; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Dunn Sr., and their beloved son, James L. Dunn Jr. “Jim”; parents, Joseph Janson “Jack” and Dorothy “Dot” Cecilia Duncan; brothers, Charles Duncan, Bobby Duncan, and Frank Duncan. A Memorial Mass celebrating Jackie’s life will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at 11:30 a.m. from St. Theresa Catholic Church in Houston, Texas, inside Memorial Park. There will be a reception after the service in the fellowship hall of St. Theresa. This will be followed by a graveside service at Holy Rosary Indian Mission Catholic Church Cemetery in Philadelphia, MS, on January 31, 2022, at 11:00 a. m. A visitation will be held at McClain-Hays Funeral Home at 9:00 am prior to the graveside service. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations are made to the American Heart Association, or MD Anderson Cancer Research.
