Service for Jackie Burton Long will be held Thursday, October 3, 2024 at 2:00 pm from the McClain-Hays Chapel with Rev. Ryan McGough and Rev. Dr. Tommy Jennings officiating. Interment will be in Eastlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 3, 2024 from 12:00 pm until time of service at the Chapel of McClain-Hays.
Mr. Long, 68, passed away on October 1, 2024 at the Neshoba County Nursing Home.
He was a native of Neshoba County. He graduated from Philadelphia High School in 1974. He obtained his Associate of Arts Degree from East Central Community College and his Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Mississippi. Jackie worked for multiple banks in Philadelphia and the surrounding area during his career. He retired as the President and CEO of the First Neshoba Federal Credit Union. He was a member of First Methodist Church in Philadelphia.
Among his greatest joys was his family, including his wife, Beth, his daughters, Jessica and Liza Kate, and his grandchildren, Jackson and Mary Mosley. He also loved the beach, basketball, and the Ole Miss Rebels.
Survivors include his wife of 17 years, Beth Long, of Philadelphia; daughters, Jessica (Blake) Pickering and Liza Kate Long of Philadelphia; grandchildren, Jackson and Mary Mosley Pickering of Philadelphia; sister, Jane (Ben) Johnson of Carthage; brother, Joey (Belinda) Long of Philadelphia; aunt, Joanne Herrington of Crystal Springs; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Emmitte and Reba Long; sister, Donna Luke; brother-in-law, Don Luke; and great nephew, Lawson Long.
Serving as pallbearers are Donnie Luke, Adam Morrison, William Long, Matthew Long,
Jayden Jenkins, and Cassidy Jenkins.
The Long Family would like extend their gratitude to the staff of Neshoba County Nursing Home and Quality Hospice.
