Services for Jackalene Spivey Johnson will be held Saturday, November 3, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. from McClain-Hays Chapel with Dr. Ken Anderson and Dr. Mike Carr officiating. Burial will follow in Neshoba Cemetery in Neshoba County. Visitation will be held Saturday at 9:30 a. m. until time of service at McClain-Hays Funeral Home. Ms. Johnson, 64, of Philadelphia, died Thursday, November 1, 2018. Jackalene Spivey Johnson was born September 16, 1954, at Tinker Air Force Base in Midwest City, Oklahoma, where her father was stationed. Jackie graduated from Vestavia Hills High School, which is located in Vestavia Hills, Alabama. She attended Jacksonville State University in Anniston, Alabama. After leaving college she went to work for AMSouth Bank and Synovous Bank in their underwriting departments. She was chairman of Mortgage Loan Underwriters of Alabama Associates. She later worked at Regions Bank as an underwriter, and in Bank Quality Assurance Compliance until her retirement. Survivors include her mother, Gwendoline Spivey Newman of Philadelphia; brother, Erwin B. Spivey (Patty Spivey) of St. Petersburg, Florida; and stepbrothers, Thomas D. Newman (Debbie) of Raleigh, North Carolina, and P. Cade Newman (Melissa) of Dallas, Texas. She was preceded in death by her father, Jack B. Spivey; brother, Charles Darell Spivey; and stepfather, Thomas J. Newman. Pallbearers are James Pilgrim, Danny Pilgrim, Kevin Pilgrim, Greg Pilgrim, Bart Moore, Joel Savell, David Spivey and Michael Vaughn.
