Itra Elizabeth Peninger

Funeral services for Mrs. Irta Elizabeth Peninger will be held Monday, April 11, 2022 at 2 p.m. from New Zion United Pentecostal Church with Rev. Randall Dunaway officiating. Burial will follow in Henry’s Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday, April 11, 2022 from 12 noon until service time at New Zion United Pentecostal Church. McClain-Hays is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Peninger, 87, formerly of Ackerman, Ms, died Thursday, April 7, 2022. She was a native of Fork Community of Neshoba County and a longtime resident of Ackerman, MS. Mrs. Peninger and her husband served the United Pentecostal Church Community for many years. Survivors include grandchildren, Brandon Peninger of Madison, Tera Price of Mathiston and Nikki Nail of Ackerman; great-grandchildren, Braxton, Cohen and Caroline Peninger, Kayson and Braylee Nail; sisters, Inez Robertson of Philadelphia, Alice Linton of North Carolina; brother, Willard Benson of Philadelphia; numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Mrs. Peninger was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Wilson Peninger; sons, Gary Peninger and Terry Price; parents, Sol and Lillian Benson; brother, Howard Benson; sisters, Lois Lovern, Mattie Sue Alexander and Syble Wilson.
