Hazel Robinson Burnett

Graveside services for Hazel Robinson Burnett will be held Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at 11 a.m. from Cedarlawn Cemetery with Rev. Brian Weir officiating. McClain-Hays Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Ms. Burnett, 88, of Philadelphia died Wednesday, December 20, 2023. Hazel was a resident of Philadelphia all of her life. She graduated from Philadelphia High School and was a cheerleader for four years, member of the C.C.C. Social Club, Beauty and member of the Homecoming Court. She married her high school sweetheart, Jimmy and they had children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren that were the loves of their life. After the children graduated from high school, she worked at the Neshoba County Health Department and was a volunteer at the Neshoba County Nursing Home. Hazel was the mother of four children; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; she is survived by a sister, Carolyn Tingle (Hoot) of Philadelphia; several nieces, nephews and their families. Ms. Burnett was preceded in death by husband, Jimmy Burnett; daughter, Cindy Burnett Chester; sons, Bill and Steve Burnett; brothers, Demp, and Marvin Robinson; sister, Myrtle Ruth Polk. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to the Heart or Cancer Fund or the charity of your choice.
