Services for Harold Curtis Blocker will be held Wednesday, July 24, 2019, at 12 noon from McClain-Hays Chapel with Rev. James Lewis and Rev. Mark Cloys officiating. Burial will follow in New Harmony Cemetery in Neshoba County. Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 23, 2019, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Home. McClain-Hays Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Blocker, 85, of Philadelphia, passed away peacefully at his home. He was a native of the Edinburg Community of Leake County. He attended Zephyr Hill School and East Central Community College. He served active duty in the U. S. Army from 1956 to 1959 with the Army Security Agency. He later served with the Army Reserve for three years; and the Mississippi Army National Guard for seven years. He was employed with Motor Parts & Gear “NAPA” for 49 years. Mr. Blocker was a member of East Philadelphia Baptist Church in Philadelphia. He loved spending time outdoors hunting and fishing. Survivors include daughter, Teresa (Terry) Adkins of Philadelphia; sons, Harold (Tracy) Blocker and Tim (Michele) Blocker, all of Madison; grandchildren, Tyler (Emily) Adkins, Trent (Bailey) Adkins, Leigh Alison (Jake) Jones, Anna Blocker, Chelsea (Tyler) Thurman; and great-grandchildren, Mason Adkins, Max Adkins, Annie Riley Adkins and Parker Harold Adkins. Mr. Blocker was preceded in death by his wife, Bobbie Blocker; parents, Carnot Blocker, Sr., and Essie Blocker; four brothers, Carnot, Jr., Mansell, Fred Ray, and Clarence.
