Harlan Parkes Majure

Services for Harlan Parkes Majure will be held Saturday, October 27, 2018, at 2 p.m. from McClain-Hays Chapel with Dr. Dan Howard officiating.  Burial will follow in Cedarlawn Cemetery.  Visitation will be held Friday, October 26, 2018 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at McClain-Hay Funeral Home. Mr. Majure, 88, of Philadelphia, died Wednesday, October 24, 2018. He was a native of Neshoba County and a longtime resident of Philadelphia.  He worked as a mail carrier for USPS for over 30 years and  served the City of Philadelphia as Alderman-at-Large  and was Mayor for 2 terms.  He also owned Harlan Majure Reality where he worked as a broker.  He was a Mason, Shriner, Jester, member of the VFW  and a veteran of The United States Navy.  Mr. Majure was a member and Elder of First Presbyterian Church. Survivors include daughters, Renee Reed of New Iberia, La., and Perian Colvin of Philadelphia; three grandchildren, Patrick Reed, Olivia Giamanco, and Erin Petty; sister, Carolyn Dearman of Fort Walton Beach, Fla. Preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Majure; brother, Dewitt Majure. Pallbearers are Bob Posey, Alex Dees, Donnie Atkinson, Kent Stribling, Patrick Reed, and Al Posey. Honorary Pallbearers are Robert Thomas, Jackie Morrow, and Col. David Norton.
