H. L. "Jack" Edwards

Services for H. L. “Jack” Edwards will be held Wednesday, September 26, 2018, at 1 p.m. from McClain-Hays Chapel with Rev. Dennis Duvall and Rev. Wayne Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery in Philadelphia. Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 25, 2018, from 5 until 8 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Home.  McClain-Hays Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Edwards, 90, of Philadelphia, died Monday, September 24, 2018, at Rush Hospital in Meridian. He was a native and lifelong resident of Neshoba County.  He was owner/operator of Edwards Electric for 30-plus years in Philadelphia.  He served in the U. S. Navy. Mr. Edwards was a member of Hope Baptist Church in Philadelphia. Survivors include daughter, Gail Tucker (Stan) of Philadelphia; son, Chris Edwards (Ann) of Meridian; four grandchildren, David Cook, Amy Cook Moody (Dan), Anna Edwards Brown and Drew Edwards; five great-grandchildren, Baleigh Moody, Andrew Cook, Emily Cook, Caroline Cook and Annilee Brown; sisters, Earlene Edwards Peebles of Philadelphia, Merlene Edwards Barnes (Tate) of Philadelphia; and a host of nieces and nephews. Mr. Edwards was preceded in death by wife, Eloise Edwards; son, Roger Lee Edwards; parents, Robert and Evie Edwards; sister, Yvonne Myrin; brothers, Winfred “Pete” Edwards; R. J. Edwards, Bobby Edwards; and brother-in-law, Billy Peebles.
