Geraldine "Jeri" Ward Phillips

A graveside service will be held Friday, February 10, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. from New Harmony Cemetery with Bro. Curt Pace officiating. McClain-Hays Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Geraldine Ward “Jeri” Phillips, 90, of Madison, died Saturday, February 4, 2023, at Ocean Springs Hospital. She was a native of Neshoba County. She retired from the University of Mississippi Medical Center after 25 years of service. After retirement she enjoyed working in her flower garden, attending family gatherings, retirement functions, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Phillips was a member of First Baptist Church in Madison. Survivors include three daughters, Paula Ballard (Tony) of Ocean Springs, Carla Harris (Leland) of Madison, and Vicki Minninger (Mike) of Madison; grandchildren, Jamie Wynn, Jason Ballard (Julie), Jessica Tichy (John), David Harris (Jill), and Dylan Dyer (Bianca); great-grandchildren, Easton and Cayden Wynn, Asher and Anders Harris, and Nora Tichy. Mrs. Phillips was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years Arthur “Smoky” Phillips; her parents, Clifton and Lessie Ward; brother, Donell Ward; and great-grandchild, Leland David “Trey” Harris III. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to University of Medical Center, Blair Batson Children’s Hospital in memory of great-grandchild Leland David “Trey” Harris III.
