George Larry Smith

Funeral services for George Larry Smith will be held Saturday, July 31, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. from Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Dennis Duvall and Rev. Justin Chaney officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, July 30, 2021, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Home. McClain-Hays Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Smith, 73, of Philadelphia, died Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian. A native of Neshoba County, he was a graduate of NCHS in 1966. He enlisted in the U. S. Navy in 1968 and was honorably discharged in 1972. After his service in the Navy he was employed by BellSouth (AT&T) until his retirement in 1999. Mr. Smith was a member of Hope Baptist Church. Survivors include daughter, Sierra Smith of Atlanta, GA; sister, Ann Huffman (Hank) of Philadelphia; one niece; and one nephew. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents, Travis and Dorothy Jolly; grandparents, Lessie and Jess Clark. Pallbearers are Nelson White, Shay Darby, Devlin Huffman, Chance Wright, Gary Bledsoe, and Lee Winstead.
