Services for Mrs. Genoby McDonald Wattles will be held at 3 pm, Sunday, June 26, 2022 at McClain-Hays Chapel. Visitation will be 1:00-3:00 p.m. Sunday at McClain-Hays Funeral Home. Interment will be held in the Remus Cemetery. Rev. Eddie Pilgrim will officiate. Mrs. Genoby McDonald Wattles, 85, of Carthage died on Thursday, June 23, 2022. Mrs. Genoby was a native of Leake County. She was a resident of Portage, IN for 30 years then returning to Leake County in 1991. She enjoyed cooking, fishing and was a dedicated wife and mother. She was a member Remus Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Vernon Wattles of Carthage; daughters, Angela Darlene Harrell of Carthage, Cynthia Lynn Takacs (Steve) of Waxahachie, TX; son, Vernon Gene Wattles (Missy) of Portage, IN; grandchildren , Nicole Elizabeth Trest, Erica Lynn Bryant, Julie Ardrey, Nicholas Takacs, Andrea Richart, Austin Wattles and Jordan Wattles; great-grandchildren, Cloee Bryant, Gunnar Bryant, Dawson Trest, Brody Richart, Evelyn Richart, Addison Wattles, Magnolia Richart and Vivian Wattles; a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents William Curtis and Ada Elmerine McDonald; brothers, Curtis McDonald, Elton Eugene McDonald , Wade McDonald; sister, Edna Sistrunk. Pallbearers were: Steve Trest, Dawson Trest, Gunnar Bryant, Vernon Gene Wattles, Austin Wattles, Jordan Wattles, Nicholas Takacs and Taylor Trest.
