Garry "Sebo" Sullivan

Funeral services for Garry “Sebo” Sullivan will be held Saturday, March 2, 2024 at 2:30 p.m. from Faith Tabernacle Church 321 Williamson Ave. Philadelphia, MS. with Bro. Wesley Lovern and Bro. Chris Gully officiating. Burial will follow in Coy Assembly Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, March 1, 2024 from 4-8 p.m. and Saturday, March 2, 2024 from 1 p.m. until service time at Faith Tabernacle Church. McClain-Hays Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Sullivan, 72, of DeKalb, MS passed away on February 27, 2024 in Kemper County at his home. Garry attended Lynville School for his primary education and DeKalb High School for his high school years and he worked for Weyerhaeuser for 18 years before becoming the owner and operator of S & S Thinning. Due to health reasons, he retired at the age of 62, but continued to work alongside his son at Performance Logging. He was a man of few words, loving, and a constant steady presence in the lives of his family, grandkids, and friends. He loved horses, rodeos, logging, hunting, fishing, and had a fondness for funny movies, westerns, music and spending time with his son, Drew. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Mr. Sullivan was a member of Faith Tabernacle Church. Survivors include his wife, Judi Sullivan of DeKalb; daughter, Dana Sullivan Brantley (Ron) of Philadelphia; son, David Drew Sullivan (Kelly) of Philadelphia; niece, Amy Dennison of Pisgah (who they considered as their daughter); grandchildren, Laurel Brantley, Ashlan Brantley, Cash Sullivan, Cruz Sullivan and Laney Dennison (who they considered as their grandchild); sisters, Sandra Wilson (Wayne) of Tuscaloosa, AL and Mellonie Sullivan of Philadelphia; and nieces, Candice Allen and Elizabeth Hill. Mr. Sullivan was preceded in death by mother Eunice Dean Sullivan; father James David Sullivan; and sister Patsy Sullivan Duer. Pallbearers will be Trent Myers, Justin Sciple, Miles Ingram, Josh Pilgrim, Jimmy Wayne McGowan, Larry Edwards and Stevie Sullivan. Honorary Pallbearers will be Gene Johnson, Steve Beason, Rex McDonald, Ike Latimer and Frankie Harper.
