Fred Jones

Services for Fred Jones will be held Friday, July 3, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. from McClain-Hays Chapel with Rev. Jermaine Simmons officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery. McClain-Hays Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Jones, 87, of Philadelphia, died Tuesday, June 30, 2020. He was a native and lifelong resident of Neshoba County. He farmed most of his life. He loved to garden, fish, and hunt when he was able. Mr. Jones was a member of Macedonia Methodist Church. Survivors include daughters, Thelma Jones, Annette Griffin (Peabody), Vernasta Jones Daniels (Willie), all of Philadelphia; sons, Otha Jones (Judy) of Orlando, FL, W. C. Jones of Philadelphia, Willie Jones (Tehita) of Philadelphia; 18 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Dicie Hunter of Philadelphia, Eloise Young of Livingston, TX; brothers, Mossie Jones of Philadelphia and Willie Jones (Ann) of Philadelphia, Larry Jones (Kathy) of Meridian, R. C. Jones (Valerie) of Philadelphia; and a host of nieces and nephews. Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his wife, Ruthie Mae Jones; daughter, Mary Odom; granddaughter, Tironza Jones Smith; parents, Amzie and Ardell Jones. The family would like to say a special” Thank You” to Quality Hospice for the care that was given to them during their time of need. Pallbearers are Otha Jones, W. C. Jones, Willie Jones, Anthony Jones, Desmond Jones, and Eric Jones.
