Ezola Clark Root

Services for Ezola Clark Ethridge Root will be held Saturday, November 9, 2019, at 11 a. m. from McClain-Hays Chapel.  Burial will follow in Goodhope Cemetery in Neshoba County.  Visitation will be held Friday, November 8, 2019, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Home.  McClain-Hays Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.  Mrs. Root, 90, of Meridian, died Sunday, November 3, 2019, at Hattiesburg Health & Rehab in Hattiesburg, MS.  A native of Goodhope Community in Neshoba County, she was a resident of Meridian from 1949 until 2018.  She was a retired sales representative for A & A Optical Dispensary.  Mrs. Root attended Oakland Heights United Methodist Church and East End Methodist Church prior.  Survivors include son, Thomas (Faye) Ethridge, Jr., of Petal, MS; sister-in-law, Debbie Ethridge of Springhill, TN; four grandchildren, Tammy Anderson, Thomas Edwin Ethridge III, Diana Ethridge, Rachael Houston; eight great-grandchildren, Lurah, Sarah Ann and Drew Anderson, Cheyenne and Madison Mae Ethridge, Iris and Ace Houston, and Nash Sanders. Mrs. Root was preceded in death by husbands, Thomas Edwin Ethridge, Sr., and Robert Root; and son, Bill Ethridge.
