Services for Evelyn Bates George will be held Thursday, January 18, 2018, at 11 a. m. from McClain-Hays Chapel with Rev. Randy Caldwell and Rev. Tommy Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Big Oak Cemetery in Kemper County. Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 17, 2018, from 5 until 8 p.m. at McClain-Hays Funeral Home. Mrs. George, 91, of Dekalb, MS, died Monday, January 15, 2018, at John C. Stennis Memorial Hospital in Dekalb, MS. A native of the Forestdale Community of Neshoba County, she was a resident of Kemper County for most of her adult life. She retired as a Quality Control Inspector from Alply Industries in Dekalb. Mrs. George was a member of the Church Of Christ in Philadelphia. Survivors include two daughters, Jenifer Gray of Philadelphia; Rhonda Caldwell (Randy) of Dekalb; sons, Jerry (Irma) George of Atlanta, GA, Glenn (Linda) George of Philadelphia, Kent (Rae) George of Falkville, AL, Ted (Sandra) George of Dekalb, and Chris (Dennia) George of Dekalb; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. Mrs. George was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd George; two grandchildren; and her parents. Pallbearers are Josh Caldwell, Scott George, Clay George, Ramsey Marx, Mike Smith, Hugh Chisolm and Darrel Bates.
